Happy 2014

So, I’ve been bad. I’ve ignored you guys for 2 months letting a bit of chaos and a lot of daylight savings time evening darkness rule my life. Projects have been pushed off, ideas have fizzled before they could develop, and time has flown. With little money to spare on projects, Down Shannon Lane was placed on the back burner. Fear not though! I will be sharing lots of new budget friendly projects in 2014. Several things around my cute little bungalow have been updated and I can’t wait to share with you guys!

For now I’ll start with sharing photos from my recent trip to Colorado. The boyfriend’s parents recently moved to the Colorado Springs area and we were dying to visit. Lucky for us, the weather was beautiful a few weeks ago and we had a blast exploring the Cave of the Winds, the Cliff Dwellings Museum, and the Garden of the Gods among many other adventures. Here were my favorite shots from the weekend taken with my new FujiFilm Fine Pix S4430 that David bought me for Christmas.

Pretty Perennials

You may remember my post about “Amping Up my Curb Appeal” last fall. I wrote about pulling all the weeds in my front garden but I didn’t tell you guys that I planted 100 bulbs after the weeds were pulled. Because the weather has been unseasonably cold here, I have been waiting on the edge of my seat for them to shoot up and bloom. That day finally came this weekend!
