Thanks to great family and friends, I am constantly on the receiving end of unwanted furniture. My newest addition? This adorable claw foot piano stool that was oozing with character but lacking in wow factor. Since I am always on the lookout to save money, I decided to spend $0 and one afternoon completing my makeover.

I prefer to purchase plants that are going to be very difficult to kill. Not because I fear that I will kill them, I’m actually quite good at caring for my plants (thanks Mom!), it’s because, like most people, I don’t need one more thing to take care of everyday. After working, cleaning house, running errands, cooking, feeding all the mouths in my house, and taking care of myself, I don’t need to worry about watering the plants. So when I decided to add new plants to my home, I chose the most easy-going, low-maintenance plants that I could find. Enter succulents!
You may remember my post about “Amping Up my Curb Appeal” last fall. I wrote about pulling all the weeds in my front garden but I didn’t tell you guys that I planted 100 bulbs after the weeds were pulled. Because the weather has been unseasonably cold here, I have been waiting on the edge of my seat for them to shoot up and bloom. That day finally came this weekend!
